It’s gothic, sometimes quite chilling, but it’s also playful.”

Season 1 broke records, becoming the second-most-watched English show in Netflix’s history. The show holds the record of six billion viewing minutes in just five days. Ortega returns not only as an actor but also as a producer. She guides a particularly scarier, less romantic, and more horror-focused Season 2.

When it comes to the plot, expect a deeper exploration of the deeper secrets within Nevermore. As reported by Deadline, the new season “will focus more on horror and less on romance,” with Jenna Ortega confirming in a discussion with Elle Fanning. She said the writers were purposefully “leaning into the horror” this time. With themes of identity, betrayal, and the supernatural escalating, Season 2 is shaping up to be “bloodier, scarier, and more twisted” than ever before.

Whether you choose to binge-watch Part 1 or extend it into September, Season 2 promises a gothic and captivating journey back through the ivy-covered and eerie hallways of Nevermore.
